AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASSINGTON� AMENDING
SUBSECTION 5-11-1.H OF CHAPTER 11, UTILITY TAX, OF TITLE V
' (FINANCE AND BUSINESS REGUI,ATTONS) , OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260 �
ENTITLED "CCiDL OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CTTY OF
RENTON, WASHINGTON" RELATING TO THE EFFECTIVE DATES OF THE
SOLID WASTE UTILITY TA%.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS: -
SECTION I. Subsection 5-11-1 .H of Chapter 11, Utility Tax, ,
of Title V (Finance and Business Regulations) , of Ordinance No.
4260, entitled "Code of General Orclinances of the City of Renton,
Washington, " is hereby amended to read as follows :
5-11-1.H. Solid Waste Utility, Handling Tax: Upon the solid
'waste utility and upon every business enter.prise or other entity
engaged in solid waste handling as defined in. Section 8-1-2 of
Chapter 8 (Health & Sanitation) of the Code of General Ordinances of
the City of Renton, a tax equal to six percent ( 6�) of the operating
rate revenue of the solid waste utility and six percent ( 6�) of the
total gross income for all other business enterprises in the City
covered under this section shall be charged. The _ tax on the solid
waste utility shail be effective as of December _ 1, 1993 and the tax
on all other business enterprises covered under this section shall
� be effective on August 8, 1994 . The taxes under this :section . shall
be payable to the Finance Department of the�_ City. Pursuant to
RCW 35 .58 . 080, nothing iri this section is intended nor shall it be
construed to impose any tax� or excise on any county-ov�rned solid
waste facility.
ORDINANCE NO. 4457
, SECTION II. This ordinance shall be effective upon its
� passage, approval, and thirty days after publication.
