AN. ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
' SUBSECTION 8-4-31.0 OF CHAPTER 4, WATER, AND SUBSECTION
', 8-5-15.D OF CHAPTER 5, SEWERS; OF TITLE VIII (HEALTH AND
SANITATION) , OF ORDINANCE NO. 4260 ENTITLED "CODE OF
GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON"
RELATING TO ANNUAL INCOME ELIGIBILITY THRESHOLDS AND
RATES FOR LOW-INCOME SENIORS AND DISABLED CUSTOMERS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I . Subsection 8-4-31 .0 of Chapter 4, Water, of I
Title VIII (Health and Sanitation) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled i
"Code of General Ordinance of the City of Renton, Washington" is
hereby amended by adding the following subsection which reads as
follows :
8-4-31.C.5: For those senior citizens, sixty-two years of
age or older and/or disabled citizens, when such seniors and/or
disabled citizens are not otherwise eligible for special rates as
� low-income seniors and/or disabled citizens, but who qualify for
property tax exemption pursuant to RCW 84 . 36 . 381 .5(a} and are not
residents of the City of Renton shall be exempt from the 50�
utility surcharge applicable to those customers not residents of
the City. To receive this exemption the applicant must provide the
information required under section 8-4-31 .C. 3 .
SECTION II. Subsection 8-5-15 .D of Chapter 5, Sewers, of
Title VIII (Health and Sanitation) , of Ordinance No. 4260 entitled
"Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton, Washington" is
hereby amended by adding the following subsection which reads as
follows :

8-5-15.D.5: For those senior citizens, sixty-two years of
age or older and/or disabled citizens, when such seniors and/or
disabled citizens are not otherwise eligible for special rates as
low-income seniors and/or disabled citizens, but who qualify for I
property tax exemption pursuant to RCW 84 . 36. 381 .5(a) and are not
residents of the City of Renton, shall be exempt from the 50� `
utility surcharge applicable to those customers not residents of
the City and shall be exempt from the necessity to execute an
agreement to annex to the City under section 8-5-15 .C.4 .a. To
receive this exemption the applicant must provide the information
required under section 8-4-31 .C. 3 .
• SECTION III. This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval, and thirty days after its publication.
