RESOLUTION NG .��
BE IT RESOLVED BY T�IE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REN��:1, �JASHINGTON , AS FO LLOWS :
S�CTION I : The City of �enton nereby appeals to the UTILITIES
AND TRANSPORTATION �OMMISSION 'JF THE STATE OF WAStiINGTON to deny any
reques+ or aetition by the Me�ropolitan Transit Compan_y to eliminate,
modify or reduce the present bus service schedule to the citizens of
,.
the Cit,� of Renton and its environs .
The City of Renton �inds and -3etermines that any such
modification or eliminaticn of bus service would not be in the public
interes� but would be considered detr�mental and �njurious to the
iaell being and safety of its citizens , esreciall�� commuters and a
substan`ial number of se::ior citizen� whc have n� other means of
transpertation.
The City of F.enton therefore requests tne UTILITIES AND
TRANSPORTATION COMP?ISSIO�� to set a hearing on any �etition of the
Metropolitan Transit Com�any and to 3dvise ali ir�erested parties
thereof , including the City of Rer,tcn, so that sa^�e �-nay be heard
at any �uch hearing .
The City Council therefore zurther requests the UTILITIES
AND TRANSPORTATION COMMISSIOiv to provide for the continuance of the
present bus service rendered by the :`�etro�ol�tan Transit Company and
to enforce such service and scnedule until such +ime as other public
agencies , including the :�?UNICIPALITY OF METROPOLITAN SEATTLE, have
actual�•,� undertaken and are =urnish�n� Froper, adequate and regular
bus or �ther vehicular se�^vice to the citizens or Renton and its
environs .
SECTION II : Tnis Resolution shall be in full force and

effect upon its passage and approval and a certified copy +nereof
sha�l be forwarded by the City Clerk unto the UTILITIES AND TRANS-
PORTATION COMMISSION, Olympia, Washington, and such other interested
parties as the City Council may determine .
