CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE NO. 4224
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
CHAPTER 41, FEE SCHEDULE, OF TITLE V (BUSINESS
REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF
GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" BY ADDING A NEW
SUBSECTION RELATING TO EXTRA FEES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Chapter 41, "Fee Schedule, " of Title V (Business
Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended by adding the
following subsection:
5-4101(A) : 26. Extra Fees. Whenever any application is to be
handled under the terms of any portion of the city's land use codes,
adopted codes, or the Uniform Building Code, and that application is
so large, complicated, or technically complex that it cannot be
handled with existing city staff, then an additional fee can be
charged which is equivalent to the extra costs incurred by the City
of Renton to pay:
a. overtime costs,
b. the pro-rata costs of additional employees necessary
to handle the application,
c. the costs expended to retain qualified cansultants to
handle the project, and
d. any general administrative costs when directly
attributable to the project.
Such extra fees shall be charged only to the extent incurred beyond
that normally incurred for processing an application.

SECTION II. Thi� ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval, and thirty days after publication.
