RESOLUTION N0 . f� �/
WHEREAS the City of Renton heretofore passed and adopted
REsolution No. 1531 under date of April 8 , 1968 , in support of a stadium
site in the Riverton area and certain alternate sites as then recommended
by the County 's consultants , and
WHEREAS said Resolution further opposed the location of such
�tad�um within the Seattle Center complex, and
WHEREAS the voters of King County at the recent election of
May 19 , 1970 , overwhelmingly supported the idea to discontinue any plans ,
projects or construction within the Seattle Center area for such a domed
stadium, NOW THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I : The above r�citals and facts are hereby found
to be true and correct in all respects . •
SECTION II: The City of Renton, Washington, hereby reaffirms
its determination, as shown in Resolution No. 1531, to support the Riverton,
South Park and other suburban sites recommended by the Consultants as being
the most advantageous and practical �locations . The City of Rento
n further
gives its unqualified support to the majority of the voters of KingCounty
who so overwhelmingly rejected on May 19 , 1970 , the Seattle Center site,
and hereby urges the County Conncil and any other governmental organization
having jurisdiction over the matter to fully adhere to and comply with
the declared wishes of the majority of the King 'County voters .
