RESOLUTION N0. -'�
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON AS FOLLQWS :
SECTION I: Pursuant to the requirements of RCW 41 .44. 20Q
a City belonging to the Statewide City Employees Retirement System
may, whenever members of the System have withdrawn their cumulative
normal contributions , cause to have transferred for its benefit
the released matching contributions which are thus no longer held
for the benefit of such employees and members of the system.
Therefore effective as of January l, 1971 the Czty
request that the sum of $24 ,780 . 00 be released from the City 's
matching contributions and placed into the reserve account to be
applied on future charges made against the City as provided l�y
1 aw.
SECTION II : The City further resolves that any and all
elected officials who have not heretofore made their written
election to be covered by the Statewide City Retirement System
may do so upon filing written notice with its Bo�rd of Trustees
as specified in RCW 41. 44 . 110 and such election for coverage to
be effective as of November 10 , 1970 or immediately prior to the
assumption of office by such elected officials as a result of the
general election on November 3 , 1970 . The City Clerk is hereby
instructed to take all the appropriate. steps to provide forsuch
contributions on behalf of the City thereafter as well as appropriate
contributions by the employee so covered as provided by law. �
