CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE N0. 4179
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, ADDING A
SECTION TO CHAPTER 1, PENAL CODE OF TITLE VI (POLICE
REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED "GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, " RELATING TO
OBSTRUCTING PUBLIC OFFICERS AND BY ELIMINATING A SECTION
FROM CHAPTER 24, CRIMINAL CODE, OF TITLE VI (POLICE
REGULATIONS) RELATING TO ADOPTION BY REFERENCE OF THE
STATE LAW AGAINST OBSTRUCTING A POLICE OFFICER.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. There is hereby added a section to Chapter 1, Penal
Code of Title VI (Police Regulations) to read as follows:
6-191: Obstructing Public Officers: It is unlawful for any
person to make any willfully untrue, misleading, or exaggerated
statement, or to willfully hinder, delay, or obstruct any public
officer in the discharge of that officer's official powers and
duties .
SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Criminal Code of Title VI (Police
Regulations) is amended by modifying Section 6-2401 (G) to read as
follows :
G. 9A. 76 . 010, 9A. 76 . 030, 9A. 76 . 040, 9A. 76.050, 9A. 76 . 060,
9A. 76. 070, 9A. 76 .080, 9A.76 . 090, 9A. 76 . 100, 9A. 76. 130, 9A. 76 . 160,
9A. 76 . 170 and 9A.76 . 180 .
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage,
approval, and five days after publication.
