RESOLUTION NO. �O ��
WiiEREAS, the CiTY OF RENTON, a municipal corporation, owns a certain
old, wooden water tank located 'in the vicinity of 12th Avenue North and itM" Street,
in the Renton Highlands, Renton, King County, Washington, which structure has
heretofore be�en replaced by a new steel tank of larger capacity, and such old,
wooden tank being comple�.ely unusable and beyond any repair, but same being in
a rotten and dilapidated condition and same constituting a nuisance and blight
in the aforedescribed area, and =it�being in the public interest to have said old,
wooden tank removed at the earliest possible d'ate, and the .Superintendent of
Utilities having heretofore made every effort to sell or otherwise dispose of
said tank, and no bids .�i�v%ng�__b�en received therefor and no parties being inter-
ested in the removal and dismantling of said tank, except one, VERN I'EDERSON
of Renton, ,Washington, NOW TI�REFORE,
BE IT RESOI.VED BY THE MAYOR. AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON
$S FOLLOWS:
1. The abo�e recited facts and conditions are true and correct and
the Council further finds that it is in the _best interest of the CITY OF RENTON
to make immediate arrangements for the disposal and dismantling of said water tank
and same is hereby declared surplus and of �no further use, value or ben�fit to the
CITY OF RENTON.
2. The Superintendent of Utiliti.'es, together with the City Clerk of the
CITY OF RENTON, are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a proper Agreement
with VERN PEDERSON af 9815 132nd S. .E., Renton, King County, Washington for the
immediate removal and dismantiing of said water tank at the sole cost and expense
of said VERN PEDERSON, and without any cost or expense to the CITY OF RENT�IV what=
ever.
3. The City Clerk and Superintendettt of Utilities are authorized and
directed to execute a Permit to said VERN PEDERSON for the aforementioned purpose
and to require same to execute a Hold Harmless .Agreement in favor of the CIZ`Y and
to provide the CITY with proper evidence of liability insurance, and such Permit
to contain such additional conditions as they may deem necessary.
