WHEREAS it has been the practice and custom af the City of Renton and certain

employees, variaus .fringe benefits including certain insurance coverage for false

assaul� and battery liucited tp acts cornmitted at the time of making or attempting
to make ar� arrest ar to prsvent escape�and
tJHEREAS such caverage has been made avai,iable primarily to all the cnembers
of the Police Department of the . City af Renton and ather certain designated afficial.s
whose duties include in.vestigations, inspeetions and searches� and
�-JHEREAS such fringe benefit covers each specific classification af employees; and
WHEREAS such practice anc3 coverage has been and is considered of public benef it
and pravides for �he promotion, among c�thers, of better empl.oyor-employee reiations;

BE IT RES4LVED BY THE MAYOR AND THE GITY CQUNCII, OF THE CITY OF R�NTCIN AS
FOLLI`�'vJS:
SECTiON I: The above speci�ied f i�dings and recitals are hereby fc�und to
be true and .correct in all respects.
SECTION II: It shall be the continuing palicy of the City c-� Renton, unless
changed ar modified by its legislative bady� ta continue in full force and effect the
f a2se arrest and other. insurance coverage here inabove G1t4Q and to continue to make
same an integral part of the City employ�nent confiract,
