RESOLUTION N0. ��'7 /�
WHFREAS, the Citq of Renton, a municipal corporation of the second class
under the laws and statutes of the State o£ Washington, desires to provide for a
pZanning �studq contributing to an overwail program for f�ture community development,
tJne preservation of community values, th� prevention of eonditions tending to cause
nrban blight, and the promotion of the gener�l health, safety and welfare of its
citizens; and,
WHIItEAS the City of Renton through its City Conncil did heretofore adopt
its Resolution No. 1131 to that effect, under date oE January 16, 1962, but now desires
to amend the Project Description which was therein adopted; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Commeree and Eeonomic Dev+eZopment, nnder
ac�thority of Chapters I57 and 2I5, Statutes 1957, Regalar Session, may provide
planning assistance for such a program and receis� financisl assis�ance ,from the
Urban Renewal Admiaistration, as authorized by Section 701 0£ the Housing Act of
1954 (Public Laws 86�, 83rd Congress); as amended bq fihe Housing Act of 1959 (Public
Laws 86••372, 86th Congress); now, therefore, be it
RESOLV�D, that the City of Renton hereby requests the State Department of
Commerce and Economic Development to provide planning assistance nn�er anthority of
Chagters 157 and 215, Stats�s 195'7, Regular Session, with such finaneial assistanee
as ma y be provided by the Urban Renewal Administration, ander authorifiy of Section
701 of the Aousing Act o� 1954 (P.L. 860, 83rd Congress), as amended by the Housing
Act of 1959 (P.L. 86-372, 86th Congress). That such plannin� assistance is more
particularly deseribed in an amended project description that is attached hereto
. and made a part o� this resolution as i� fullq set forth herefn.
THAT, the City of Renton, subject to approval of such planning assistance
bq the State and Federal authorities, hereby authorizes:
(a) paq�uent to the State Department o£ Commerce and Economie Dev�elopment
of a sum not to exceed $32,500.09,
THAT the total estimated cost of the City of Renton'� project as planned
is $97,500.00.
THAT, the ae�thorized off icial of the City of Renton be, and he herebq is, I

author�zed and empowered to execute in the name of the Citp all necessary contracts
and agr�enments to implement and carry out the pnrposes specified in this Rgsolution.
ADOPTFD BY THE GITY CaUNCIZ of the CITY OF R�1TON, and effective, this
18th dsy of June, 1952.
