� RESOLUTION NO. 115$

� WHEREAS, the City of Renton coxnxnends the Washington State Department �'�
` of Highways for their continued effort to complete Federal Limited Access Highway
1-RE; and,
WHEREAS, the City of Renton after due consideration and study pezitioned
� the Washington State Department of Highways for an additional intercha.nge to
, connect Federal Limited Access Highway 1-RE with the industrial.area of Renton
i in the area of Eighth Avenue North; and,
WHEREAS, it is the belief of the City of Renton that this intercha.nge would
reduce the traffic congestion in Renton; and would be of great benefit to the general
public and to some of the xnajor industries o;f the State located in the Renton area;
and
WHEREAS, said interchange would also be in the best interest of traffic
safety; and,
WHEREAS, a vital link between xnajor industrial plants and residential
areas would be connected; now,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City of Renton that, an interchange~
in the vicinity of �ighth Avenue North, Renton, -Was�ington and Federal Limited
Access Highw�y 1ARE be estabiished as part of the Interstate Highway System,
. PASSED BY THE CITY COUNGIL this 20th day of August, 19b2.
