RESOLUTION NO, 1I59 � • y
WHEREAS, the City of Renton has a vital interest in its trade and surround-
ing area; and,
WHEREAS, a large number of people living in Kent and Auburn are employed
in the Renton area; and,
WHEREAS, the present highways are entirely ina.dequa.te and unsafe to handle
the traffic of Renton and its sister cities of Kent and Auburn; now,
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City
of R enton,
' That the Washington State Department of Highways be requested
to expeditiously commence construction of a Renton-Kent-Auburn
Freeway� Project and to complete same at the earlie� possible
date; such immediate action being necessary for the protection of
the public and the great number of workers employed in the
Renton area but who �re residing South of Renton.
