HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2152r � ' �R1Gt�kAi. •� ORDII�NCE N0. ?�� • !�N ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF R%NTON REIATING TO ACQUISITION BY PURCHFISE OF CERTAIN PROPERTIES LCCATED bJITHIN Tt� PIA'T OF 'THE TOWN OF RENTON FOR THE PURPOSE OF ESTABLISHING AND CONSTRUCTING A CIVIC CENTER IR�CLUDING CITY HALL= LIBRARY AND GENERAL MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, INCLUDING PARKING; APID PRQ— VIDING FOR THE PAYMENT OF SAID ACQUISITZONS OUT OF �UI`�II7I,f�TIV� �s�,�,v� �ut�p tio. 1.�91� LJHEREAS it has heretofore been duly determined and established, after public hearings thereon, to acquire certain properties located within an area generally bounded � by Houser Way, Mill Street, Bronson Way and the Cedar River for the establishment and I� construction of a Renton Civic Center and WHERE�S the City has heretofore undertaken the appraisals of said lands and unprovec►ents located therein and WHEREAS some of the property owners s�ithfn the area to be acquired have agreed to sell their properties as hereinafter nore particularly described to the �ity of Renton, based on such appraisals emd �JHEREHS public necessity and convenience denand that such parcels of land, together with all interest, rights, privileges and other property in or pertaining thereto, be e��q�ired �p the City of Renton, NChJ THER,EFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE M�YOR AND THE CITY COUn�CIL OF THE CYTY OF RENTON AS F OLL(�)S: SECTION I: The above f indings and recitals are hereby found to be trae and . correct in all respects; � that public necessity and convenience de�aand that the following described parcelsof land, together with all interest, rights, privileges and other property in or pertaining thereto, be purchased and acquired by the City of Renton for the following public uses and purposes to-wit: Site for a Civic Center, City Library, City Ha11 , parking facil ities, and other general , publ ic or municipal purposes; � a�d said lands and parcels of prop�rty being described as follows: A, The G7est half of Lots 12 and 13, Block 2, To�an of Renton, according to plat recorded in Volume 1 of Plats, page 135, in Renton, King County, Washington. B� Lot 2, except the north 5 feet, BZock 2, Town of Renton, according to plat recorded in Volume 1 of Plats, page 135, in Renton, King County, �7ashington. TOGETHER WITFi all interests, rights, privileges and other property in or pertaining thereto or to any adjoining premises which the above owners have therein; and the City to pay unto the owners of Parcel A the sum of �15,000.00� and unto the owners of Parcel B the su� of �9,000.00 and conveyance thereof to be made unto the City of Renton by Statutory tiJarranty Deed� free and clear of all encumbrances whatsoever. SECTION II: The City Attorney is hereby authorized and directed to take all appropriate actions and proceedings in the manner authorized by law, necessary to carry . out the provisions of this Ordinance and the acquisition of the aforedescribed properties: SECTION III: This Ordinance shall be in fu1Z force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication.
