SECTION 5-2804 of TITLE V (BUSINESS REGUI.ATIONS) OF ORDINAIVCE

ZENTON" PROVIDING PEIVALTIES FOR FAILURE TO PAY LICENS� FEES.
BE IT OLtDAINED BY THE MAYOR AIdD THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENT4N AS
FOLLOt�dS:
SECTION I: Existing Section 5-2804 of Title V (Business �2egulations) of
I Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is
hereby amended to read as foZlows:
Section 5-2804 as amended Investigation of �pplicant; License Fees ',
and Penalties.
Upon £iling of the ,application the Clerk shall determine whether the
applicant is a fit and proper person to engage in the used car business
and is prepared to carry on such business under tha provisions and '
requirements of this �hapter. The Clerk may refer the application to
the Chief of Police for investigation and report. If the Clerk is
satisfied that the applicant is such a fit and proper person and is
prepared to comply with the provisions and requirements of this Chapter,
he rnay issue a Iicense to the applicant. The annual license fee for
used automobile dealer's license shall be one hundred dollars ($lOQ.00)
f or each place of business and shall accompany the application. Ail
� licenses shall be on a calendar year basis and sha2l expire at midnight
on the 31st day of Decamber of each year. Such license shall be con-
spicuously displayed at the place of business of the dealer.
Each license fee provided f or herein shall become due and
payable on the first day of each year that the person is engaged in
the used car business as herein defined. As to any such business
commenced during any year such annual licens�sfees shall be due and
payable on the first day that such business/transacfied or carried on.
Failure to pay the license fee within 30 days af ter the date on which
it is due and payable sha12 render the tax payer subject to a penalty
of f ive percent (S%) of the amount of the 1 icense fee f or the f irst
month of delinquency and an additional pena2ty of five percent {5%)
for each succeeding month of delinquency, but the total pen�lty shall
in no event exceed twenty five percent (25%) of the total amount of
license fees due.
All other provisions and terms oE Ordinance No. 1989 as codified in Chapter 28, Title
i V, {Business Regulations) of the City's Code of General Ordinances shall remain in
full force and effect.
SECTION TI: This Ordinance shall be in full f prce and effect from and aEter
its passage, approval and legal publication.
