AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY �F RENTON. WASHINGZON, DECLAI�ING
THAT AN F�KERGEIVCY EXISTS AND APPROPRIATIIQG MONIES FOR THE
PUBFOSE OF PROVIDING FUNDS I�OR CERTAIN STREET IMPR4VF•N1F�i1'T$

NECESSITATED BY SUCH EMERrG�sNCY. i
WHEREAS since the adopti�n of the 1968 Annua� Budget �f the City of Renton,
Traffic Engineering and
it has become necessary to provide for the expenditure of certain funds by the/Street
Department�for the improveme�t of certain streets, to-wit: North Third and Fourth
Streets� including convers�ion to undergrouad electrical installation� and such
expe�di.tutee being neceasary and required and being ia thc� public interest and for
the public iJe�fare, and
WEtEREAS it ia neeessary for the proper administ,ration, operation and
maintenance of the C ity to a ppropriat� funds �or the payment of sueh expenditures
as a bove set £orth� NOW THEREFORE �
BE IT ORDAIAIED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE C;ZY aF REN10Al,
WASHINGTON, AS FOLIAWS: I
SECTION I: The Foregoing re�itals a nd facts are hereby feund and deter- �

mined by the City Couneil to be true and existing a nd by reason thereof the Council '
hereby declares that an emergency exists requiring the immediate improvement of
North Third and Four th Streets, the widening thereot and the tonversion of overhead '
, ;
to underground electrical installa tion.
SECTION II: That there be aad is hereby ailowed and established the

following sum fDr expenditures ia the following classipication and said sum is
appropriated as herein set forth� �o-wit:
UNTO: Current Fund, Traffic Engineering, 1172, 602, Structures and Improve-
ments, $38,284.12, and Urban �9rterial, 1250, 602, Bldgs. & Improvements, $5,000.00
SECTION III: This Ordinanee is an emergency �rdinance which sha12 not be
voted ups�n until ene week shall�have elapsed 3fter its introduetion, and a copy
thereof shall be publi�hed and pested as a proposed Ordina nce wit h notiee of the i
time set for voting thereon.
SECTION IV: This Ordinaaee shall be in full f orce and effect from and after
' its passage, appreval and legal publication.
