HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2448 �� . � � �. � ���C`t�!�.1.� •. _.. .. ,� ,� i ORDINANCE N0. ���� AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, SUBMITTING TO TI� QUALIFIED ELECTORS AN ADVISORY BALLOT AT A SPECIAL ELECTION REQUESTING TO BE HELD ON MARCH 11 , 1969, PROVIDING FOR THE FLUORIDATION OF TI� MUNICIPAL WATER SUPPLY AND � AUTHORIZING CONSTRUCTION OF NECESSARY FACILITIES. BE IT ORDAINED BY TI-� MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REN'�rON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION I: That there be submitted to the qualified electors (voters) of the City of Renton at a special election requested to be held in said City on March 11 , 1969, an advisory ballot for the approval or disapproval of the fluorida- tion of the municipal water supply and construction of the necessary facilities therefor. 'I'h�re shall be placed upon such advisory ballot a statement and caption of said proposition in substantially the following form: "Fluoridatiori of the Municipal Water Supply: Shall the City of Renton adopt an Ordinance providing for the fluoridation of the municipal water supply, authorizing construction of the necessary facilities therefor, and providing for the addition to such municipal water supply of a source of fluoridation approved by the Washington State Department of Health? E Yes No . „. Every qualified elector at such election desiring to vote in favor of such proposed Ordinance for the fluoridation of the water supply sha11 vote a ballot containing the word "Yes". Ever ualified elector at such election desirin to vote for the Y q g I rejection of such proposed Ordinance for the fluoridation of the wat�r� supply shall vote a ballot containing the word "No". � SECTION II: Not less than 45 days prior to such election the City Clerk shall certify to the Auditor of King County, as provided by law, such proposition in the form of a ballot title as hereinabove stated, and submit to the King County Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance. SECTTON TII: The Auditor of King County as ex officio Supervisor of � Elections is hereby requested to ca11 a special election to be held in the City of Renton on March 11 , 1969, for submitting to the duly qualified electors of I said City said proposition; it being understood, however, that such ballot - 1 - � �� �� � • .. , , proposition sha11 be advisory only to the City Council.
