AN ORDINANCE .OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHING,TON,
AMENDING CHAPTER 9 OF TITLE V CBUSINESS REGULATIONS)
OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED ".CODE OF GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF. THE CITY OF RENTON`� RELATING. .TO
PIN BAT,� MACHINES AND SIMILAR DEVICES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND. THE CITY COUNCIL OF. THE
CITY OF RENTON,. WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS ;
SECTION I : Existing Section 5-901 of T�t1.e' :V l�Business
Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "CODE .OF GENERAL �ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY. OF RENTON" is her.eby amended to read as follows :
SECTION :5=901 AS AT'IENDED - LICENSE AND .SUB-LICENSE
RE.QUIRED; PROHIBITING GAMBLING AND CERTAIN DEVICES . It shall be. unlawful
for any person to own, operate or to have in his possession or control
� wi.thin the City limits. any . ��i�all machine or similar device, by- the
oper.ation of which it is possible for the operator to receive any goods ,
wares, merchandise, money, tokens, slugs or any other article or obj.ect
of value or which machine or device contains any mechanism which varies
the chance of winning free games or the number of free games which may
or
` be �on depending on the number of coins inser.ted� which contains any
mechanism wher.eby, free games may be removed from the machine by any
means other. than the complete playing thereof, or any counting device
. to record fr.ee games or score thus automati.cally cancel.led or removed
therefrom or which machine or device .contains any m.echanism commonly
7 referred to as "kriock off". dev:ice , '�earch rela�' unit, 'refle�' unit, ,"free
game" or"automatic payoff" mechanisms or any combination or deviation
thereofa and PROVIDED FU.RTHER that in no event .shall any such machine
or device be licen.sed which is of a kind intended. to, and does , appeal
to the gambling instinct .or habit and/or is so designed and equipped as
to rerider it of practi.cal .uti.lity only as a dev.ice to be. used, for
gambling.
Any .o.ther Pinball machine .or similar dev.i.ce , which is
not in violation of the Provisions of the preceding paragraph, shall be
subject to a valid, unrevoked master license and sub-license for each
such machine or device as further provided for in this chapter. '
SECTION II: Al1 .o.'�her. Ordinances. or parts of Ordinances
