AN ORDZNANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON,. WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTIONS 4-706 , 4-711", 4-716, 4-730 OF
TITLE IV (BUILDING REGIJLATIONS) -OF. ORD.INANCE NO.
I628 ENTITLED ".CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO SIGNS.

1 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I : Existing 5ections -4-706 (5) (a) and (b) of Title IV
{Building Requlations) of Ordinance No.. 1628 enti.tled "Cade of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" he and the .same ar.e- -hereby amended to ,
read as follows:

appur.tenant to sing�].e fami]._y dwellinqs -shall be permitted.
Detached singi�� ca� g.ar.ages. are allowed. .with'in three (3)
feet _ot si�de .pr.operty lines by written conserit of adjoining
property owners.
(a) The office. .of a physician,.. dentist, attorney,
accountant, or other similar pr.ofessional .person, when
located in his or her dwelling, also a home occupation
not involving any .machinery or motor .in excess of one
(1) horsepower, .engac}ed in by individuals within. their
own dwel�.ings-, are .permi�ted provided that no window
display is made. .or. signs shown other .than one in compli-
ance with the pravisions of the "Renton 5ign Code" , also
known as Chapter 19 of Title IV (Building Regulations)
of Ordinance No. 1628 .
(b) S.igns are permitted on,1.y as. .specifically pro-
vided for in the "Rentan Sign Code'° , .a1.so. knawn as
Chapter 19 .of Tit,�e ZV (Building Regulations) or Ordi-
nance No . 1628 .
SECTION II : Existing. 5ection 4-711 . (20) _ of Tit1.e IV (Build-
ing Regulations) of. Ordinance No. 1628. .entitled. "Code o� General Ordi-
nances of the. City of Ren.ton" be and �he .same. is hereby .amended to read
as follows:

19 of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628.

(a) All buildings, structu�es and/or uses of every type
and description abutting or fronting .on a Primary State High-
way within the City shall maintain. a twenty (20) foot setback
from their lot Iinese
(b) Setback Requirements on Certain City Streets: All
buildings , structures and/or uses of every type and descrip-
tion abutting upon or fronting on the following designated
streets within the City shall maintain .a fifty (50) foot set-
back requirement froin the center line of the herein designated
s�reets which shall apply to all construction and improvements
hereinafter commenced:
(1) A fifty (50) foot setback from the center line of
the Benson Highway extending from the south City limits to
Grady Way.
(2) A fifty (50) fopt setback from the center line of
NE 4th Street extending from the east City limits to Edmonds
Avenue NE, and No 4th Street from Logan _Avenue N. to Houser
Way N.
SECTION IV: Existing Section 4-730 . 020 (4) of Title IV I
(Buildinc� Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code �f Genera� I'
I Ordinances of the City of Renton" be and the same is. hereby amended to
read as follows :
4-730 . 020 (4) Signs are permi.tted .onl.y -as specifically
provided in the "Renton Sign Code�°' , also. knocan as Chapter 19 '
of Title IV (Building Regulations) of Ordinance No_o 1628a
SECTION V: All other ordinances or paxts ot- ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repea�ed.
SECTION VI : This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
