AN: ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, �
PROVIDING FOR THE HOLDING OF A fl�LMARY AND GENERAL
ELECTION RELATING TO THE RE-ORGANIZATION OF THE
CITY 'S MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT UNDER THE MAYOR-
COUNCIL PLAN AS SPECIFIED IN CHAPTER 35A. 12 OF
THE RE.VISED CODE OF WASHINGTON
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON,. WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION �I:� The City of Renton heretofore passed and adopted
Ordinance No. 2536 under date of January 12 , 1970 , providing for the
adoption of the Qptional Municipal Code under the classification of
Non- Charter Code City as specified in Title 35A of the Revised Code
of Washi:ngton, and Ordinance No. 2537 under like date providing for
the re-organization of its Municipal goverment by adoption of the
Mayor=Council Plan as provided for in Chapter 35A. 12 . Certifi.ed
copies of said Ordinances have heretofore been filed with the Secre-tary
of State 's office and duly acknowledged by said office as provided
for in Ch. 35A. 02 . 040. RCW. I
� SECTION II : Pursuant to Chapter 52 , Laws of 1970 Extra-
Ordinary Session, special reference being made to Section 1 thereof,
and the Ordinances described in Section I hereinabove_ having been filed I
with the Secretary of State at least ninety (90) days prior to the I
State General Election in the year 1970 , the election of new officers , I
to-wit:, seven councilmen, shall be concurrent with the State Primary I,
and General Election on or about September 15th ,and November 3rd , 1970 ,
respectively , and such elections shall be conducted as further provided
in Ch. 35A. 29 RCW. Declarations of candidacy for such primary election '
shall be filed as provided for in RCW 35A. 29 . 110 , as amerided.
The Director of records and Elections of King County is hereby
requested to take all necessary steps and action as required by law

for the State Primary and General Election as hereinabove set forth,
' including the publication of proper notices thereof.
SECTI"ON III : 'I'his Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage , approval and legal publi.cation.
