AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RE.NTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 1=2501 (E). OF TITLE I (ADMINISTRATIVE)
OF ORDINANCE .NO. 1628 ENTITLED ".CODE OF GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING. TO SICK
LEAVE BENEFITS .
BE IT. ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND .THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RENTON, WASHINGTON AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Existing Sect.ion 1-2501(E). of. Title I , "Administrative"
of Ordinance No . 1628 entitled "Code of Gerieral Ordinances of the City
of Renton" is .hereby amended to read as follows :
' Section '1=2501 (E) Accu'm:ulative 'Sick� "Leave Benefit-
As Aniended: ��ach City employee :as herein defined shall, upon. his
retirement from service as provided by lata,. or upon his vol,untary
separation while an employee in good standing, receive a cash amount
which shall. be equal to one-half (�_I2) day' s pay for the posa.tion or
grade last permanently held by such �em.ployee for each day of accumulated
sick l.eave theri standing to sucYi employ.ee's credit on the records of
the City . The aforecited benefit shall not apply. to any employee who
is discharged for cause or terminates fox cause at the request of the
Ci.ty.
No accrual of sick leave. benefits as hereinabove defined
sha11 be permitted to any employee who has applied or has .been granted
retirement for dis.ability under any existing state pension and/or retire-
ment act and who is on such dis.abi.l.ity leave for a period of six months
� or more and is receiving his monthly salary during such six months
period; in the .event, however, that .such �employee .is returned to full
active duty status with the City prior to. .the expiration of said six
month period and prior to any final disability r.etirement, and the.re-
after continues: to perform his regular duties , then such sick leave
credits shall accrue to hi:s benefit during such temporary period of
disability and at the rate specified in Section 1-2501 (A) (B) (C) and
(D) .
