TH� MAYOR .AND CITY CLERK TO ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS WITH UNITED STATES DE�'ARTMENT OF LABOR IN CONNECTION WTTH SATD GRANT AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING TH� MAYOR TO ADMINIS'I'�R SAIA GRANT AND TO FILI, � POSITZQNS MADE AVAILABI,E BY SUCH GRANT, TH� CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON D(� ORDAIN AS FQI�LOWS: . S�CTION I : Pursuant to the provisions of the Emergency I Emp�oym,ent Act of 1971 (Public Law 92-54) there is hereby created a,nd established an "Emergency Employmen� Fund" in the City of Renton which said Fund is to receive and expend sums allocated by the United States Departm,ent of Labor pursuant to agreement entered into with the City of Ren-�on. SEC'�ION IV: The Mayor, and the City Clerk are hereby authorized �ko execute and deliver for and on behalf of the City of Renton a contract with th.e United States of America, Department of Labor, or such other governmental agency as authorized by 1aw, to provide financial assistance ' i.n the approximate total sum of $108 , 922 . 00 to provide employment opportunities for the unemployed citizens of the City of Renton as pxovided for by the rules and regu7.ations of the Department of Labor to implement such program. SECTION V: The Mayor is hereby authoriaed to fill such positions limited by the budgetary amounts, and subject to applicabl.e � C�,vil Service laws and regulations . The positions so filled sha11 be subject to the dura-tion of the grant. Attached hereto is a list of positions to be so filled within the budgetary allocations which list is 1abeled Exhibit "A'� and made a part hereof as if fully set forth. Monies appropriated from the Contingency Fund to be fully reimbursed upon receipt from the Department of Labor. SECTION VI : This Ordinance shall be effective upon lts passage, approval and five days after its publica-tion, unless otherwise provided for hereinabove .
