, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
ADOPTING AND ESTABLISHING BY RE�'ERENCE A "UNIFORM
PLUMBING CODE" , 1970 EDITION; AND RE�EALING ANY AND
ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITI�.
WHEREAS not less than three printed copies in book form of the
"UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE" (as issued by the International Association
of Plumbing and Mechan�:cal Officials) 1970 Edition, have heretofore
been filed in the 'Office of the City Clerk of the City of Renton for
use and examination by the public, and it is deemed advisable to adopt
said Code by reference and as hereinafter more particularly set forth,
together with any amendments , additions or modifications thereto,
when printed and filed with the City Clerk from time to time ;
NOW THEREFORE
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I : The said "UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE'� as issued by the
International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Of�icials , 1970
Edition, of which not less than three printed copies in book form have
heretofore been and are now ��,n file in the Office of the City Clerk
and have been made available for examination by the public, is hereby
adopted and established as the "UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1970 EDITION'�
for the City of Renton which Code may be hereafter designated as
"CITY UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1970 EDITION" ; EXCEPT HOWEVER that
Sections 1. 2 and 1. 3 of Part 1 (Administration) (page la) and all of
part 2, consisting of pages 9a to lla inclusi.ve are hereby deleted
and excluded from such adoption.
SECTION II : Any and all amendments , additions or modifications
thereto , r,ahen printed and filed with the City Clerk of the City of
Renton by authorization of the City Council from time to time shall
be considered and accepted and constitute a part of such Code, as
amended, without the necessity of further adoption of such amendments ,
modifications or additions by the Legislative authority of the City of

Renton, or by Ordinance. �

SECTION III: This Ordinance shall not be constr.ued .to relieve
from or lessen the .responsibility of any person owning, building,
altering, constructing or moving any building or str.ucture as defined
in the aforesaid Code; nor shall the City of Renton or any agent thereof
be held as assuming such liability by reason of inspection authoriaed
herein or a Certificate of Inspecti.on issued by th.e City or any of �
i.ts agericies .
SECTION .IV: Whenever the term `�Administr.ative Authority" is used
in this Code it shall be .constr.ued to mean the Buildin Director of

the City of Renton, or his duly aut.h.orized representative or agent .
'SECTION' .V: By th.e .reference thereto made hereir�abbve�; said
"UNIFORM P�UMBING CODE, 1970 EDITION" tog.ether with any and all
amendments, modifications or additions. thereto hereafter. printed or
filed with the City C��erk as hereinabove specified, and as above
amended, are hereby incorporatedin and ma�.� a part of this. Ordinance '
as fully and with the same effect as if set out herein in. ful��, o�

One copy of said Code shall be duly authenticated and
' �corded by the City Clerk along with. the ado.pting Ordinance .
SECTION `VT: Chapter. 2 of Title IV (Building Regulations) of
Ordinance No . 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City
of Re.nton" and any and all oth.er o.rdinancesor parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are her.eby repea.��.ci.
SECTION .VII : This Ordinance shall be effective upon .its passage , �,
approval and five days after its publication� , unless otherwise pro- I
vi.ded for hereinabove.
