AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON ,
CREATIiVG AND �STABLISr�TNG A TRUST FUND TO DE�OSIT
' ALL FUNDS RLCEIVED PURSUAPdT TO ThE '� STATE A�D
LOCAL FISCAL ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1972" (HR 14370-
REVENUE SHARING) ; PROVIDTNG FOR ThE DISBURSEMENT
FROM SAID TRUST FUND FOR CERTAIN DESIGNATED PURPOSES
AS PROVIDED BY LAf�i
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOGdS :
SECTION I: There is hereby established and created a
certain Trust Fund into which sha11 be deposited all payments received
or to be recei.ved under the provisions of that certain Federal Act
entitled "State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972" (com,-nonly �
known as the Federal-5`fate Revenue Sharing Act) . The City further
agrees to use the amounts deposited in and to such Trust Fund,
incJ_uding any interest or benefits earned thereon ,pursuant to and
in compliance with all of the rules and regulations applicable to
the aforementioned Federal Act. Such fund shall be known a.s 'TFederal
Sharecz Revenue Fund'.': _ _
` � �ECT�iON II : The monies deposited -:_in such T.r�zs� Fund
shall be used only for priority expenditures as defined in Sec�tion
' 103 (a) of the aforementioned Act including but not lzmiting it to
the following"priori.ty expenditures" to-wit:
A. Ordi.nary and necessary maintenance and operating
expenses for
l. Public safety, including law enforcement , I
fire protection, and building code enforce-
men.t,
2 . Environmental protection, including sewage
disposal, sanitation, and pollution abatement .
3 . Public transport�a.tion, incl�ng transit systems
� and streets and roads .
4. Health
5 . Recreation

6 . Libraries
7 . Social Services for the poor or aged

8 . Financial administration; and
B. Ordinary and necessary capital exper�3itures authorized .
by law.
The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to
execute and deliver unto such Federal or State officials as may be
required, any certification or acknowledgment that the City of Renton
has used the funds received by it under the aforementioned Act for
any and all of such priority expenditures as herei,nabove specified I
and as set forth in said Federal Act. None of such Trust Funds
is to be used� directly or indirectly for the purpose of obtaining �
Federal Funds under any law of the United States whi.ch requires the
local governm�n� to make a eontribution, i. e . matching funds , in
order to receive such Federal Funds .
SECTION III : There shall be attached to this Ordinance
a true and correct copy of all the rules and regulations issued by �
the Secretary of the U. S . Treasury applicable to the "State and Local
Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972" and the City hereby agrees to fully
comply with said terms and conditions .
_ SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
pasaage, approval and five days after its publication, unless otherwise
provided for hereinabove .
