AMENDING SECT.ION 5-1G06 OF T.ITLE V (BUSINESS
REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED
"CODE OF GENERAL �ORDINANCES OF THE CITY. OF �I
REN.TON" RELATING TO CONTROL OF DOGS IN :CERTAIN
PUBLIC AREAS .
THE C.ITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY. OF RENTQN .DO. ORDAIN AS FQL.LOWS :
SE:CTTON I : Existing sub-.s.e.ctiori (C.) of Section. 5-1606 of
T.itle V (Business Regulations),,o�. Ordi.nance -'No: 1628�`entitled "Code
of 6erie�al O.rdinances of. the City of Reriton'� is hereby amended to
read as follows : . .. ..
a. Se:ct'iori 5=16`06 (C:) = DOGS AT L;ARGE;' RE'QUIREMENT Q�'
' L�ASI-i 'OR CITAIN: It shall further. be: unlawful for any owner or
cust.odian:
To .permit any animal, whether li.cens.ed or not,. to run I
at lar.ge in any publ.ic park, publ�ic. beach, pond, fountain, .stream,
public playgr.ound, school ground or any other public facility �
. permitting swiinming andlor bo:ating a.ctivities; provided how.ever • I
that :this section shall n.ot prohibit a person from walking or I
e.xercising a dog in a public area, except on any public beach,
pond, stream or similar facility which .permits sw'imming andJor
bo�.ting act.ivities , when such dog is on a leash or. otherwise under
the 'immediate_ co.ntrol of .its. owner or .custodian and proper safe= '
guards are taken to pr.o_te.ct the :public and property from injury I
or damage from said dog.
The Superinte.nderit of Par.ks. :_is hereby .aut.horized and
directed to po.st such areas as hereinab.ove set forth.
SECTION II: Any and all o.rdinances or parts.. of ordinances
in conflict her.ewith are her.eby .repealed. I
SECTTQN IIT : This Ordinance .shall be ef.fe.ctive upon .its.
passage,. appr.oval and five: days after its public.ation, ..unless .other- ,
wise provided. for .hereinab.o.ve.
