CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE N0. 2776
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 5-1503 OF TITLE V (BUSINESS
REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED
"CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON"
RELATING TO SECOND HAND DEALERS AND PROCEDURE
FOR APP�TCATIQNC�F LICENSES
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : �
SECTION I : Existing Section 5-1503 of Title V CBusiness ,
Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General '
Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as
follows :
� 5-1503 : APPLICATION FOR LICENSE ,as amended:
Prior to the issuance of such license , the applicant ,
or someone on his behalf, shall make written application
to the Director of Finance for a secondhand dealer' s
license on such forms as may be furnished by the City
and such application shall be accompanied by the
required license fee. Thereupon such application shall I
be referred to the Police Department for investigation I
and recommendation. Any applicant who has been convicted ,
during the previous �'i�.e (�') year period , for the crime
of burglary, larceny, �receiving stolen goods , and similar
crimes as may be' determined �by the Chi� of Police , shall
be ineligible to receive such license. Upon recommendation
and written report by the Police Department to the Director
of Finance , such application shall then be issued by the
Director of Finance to such applicant upon payment of the
required license fees .
SECTION II : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III : This ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage , approval and five days after its publication , unless otherwise
provided for hereinabove.
