VACA,TZNG A PORTION 0� ALLEY LOCATED SOUTH OF
SOUTH 2ND STREET AND WEST OF LQGAN AVENUE, AS MORE

� WHEREAS a proper petition for vacating a portion, of

� alley located south of South 2nd Street and West of Logan Avenue ,
'� as hereinafter more particularly described, was duly filed with the

t'" City Clerk on or about November 24, 1972 , and said Petition having
been signed by owners representing 1000 of the total footage upon
.- the portion of sa�,d alley to be vacated; and
WHEREAS the City Council by Resolution No . 1836 approved
on January 8 , 1973 , and after due investigation did fix and determine
the 5th day of February, 1973 , at the hour of 8 : 00 P .M. in the City
Council chambers of the City of Renton to be the time and place for 'I
public hea,ri,ng thereon, which hearing date was continued to February
13 , 1973 ; and the City Cler�k having given due notice of such hearing
'I in the manner provided by law and all persons having been heard
appearing in favor of or opposition thereto; and
WHEREAS the Department of Engineering and other Departments �
of the City havi�gduly considered said petition for said vacation,

and having found same to be in the public interest and for the public
bene�it and no injury or damage to any person or properties will
result �rom such vacation;
NOGJ THEREFQRE THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION I : The following described_ portion of alley
located south of South 2nd Street and west of Logan Avenue , to-wit:

Said a7,ley runs generally East and West betraeen Lots
1, 2 , 3 , 4 and 5 on the North �d Lot 6 on the South,

� ' and said alley runs generally North and South from t he
^� alley above described to Second Avenue between i;ot
�� 5 , Bloek l, Smi,ther I s 6th Add�.ta.on to the Town of Renton
on the West and Lots 6 , 7 and 8 , Block l , Motor Line
� Addition to theTown of Renton on the East. The portion
� of the , alle�r s.ought to be vacated is that portion lying
� between the East half af Lot 4, and all of Lot 5 ,
Block l, Smi,ther' s 6th Addi,tion, to the Town of Renton
and Lot 6 in Block 1 of Smither's 6th Addition to the
Town o� Renton and that portion of the alley lying
- � between Lot 5 , Block l, Smither's 6th Addition to the
Town of Rentpn and Lots 6 , 7 and 8 , Block l , Motor line
Addition t4 the Town of Renton. 3'he width of the portion
of the alley sought to be vacated is 16 .45 feet. The
distancefrom West to East of the portion sought to be
vacated is 78 .45 feet then a distance of 90 feet to the
North.
SUBJECT, HOWEVER, to an �easement for utility �urposes
reta�,ned by the City of Renton, which easement is described
as �ollows :
� The westerly 30 feet of that portion of the above i
described alley to be vacated.
BE AND THE SAME ISHERESY VACATED, subject to payment unto the City '
by the Petitioner-Qwnex�s of the sum of $,2, 572.60 , which said
sum constitutes not more than one-half of the appraised value of the
portion o� alley so vacated, all pursuant to RCW 35 . 70 . 030 .
SECTION II: This Ordinance shall be effective upon
, i,ts pa�sage, approval and five days after its publication, unless
