ORDINANCE N0 . 2788
AN QRDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING
CHAPTER 9 (�'IRE PREVENTION CODE) OF TITLE VII (�'IRE REGULATIONS)
OF ORDINANCE N0 . 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF
THE CITY OF RENTON" REGULATING OUTDOOR FIRES AND REQUIRING
PERMITS .
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, tn1ASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : There is hereby added and established a new section
enti,tled Secti,on 7-909� of Chapter 9 (Fire �revention Code) of Title VIz
(Fire Regulations) of Ord�nance No . 1628 entitled "Code of General
Ordinances of the City of Renton" , reading as follows :
Section 7-909 - OUTDQOR FIRES - LICENSING - REGULATIONS :
Section 28 . 1 of Arti,cle 28 entitled "Precauti.ons Against Fire ,
General" of the 19.65 edi,tion of the "FIRE PREVENTION CODE" is hereby
deleted and in lieu thereof the following secti,on be and the s.ame
is hereby adopted:
Section 28 . 1, as amended.
A. No outdoor fires shall be permitted except the following:
(1) Small outdoor fires for pleasure, religious ,
ceremonial, cooking or like social purposes .
(2) Fires for instruction in the method of fighting
, f�res , test�ng fire reslstant materials , or testing I
fire protection equipment. �
B. All fires listed under subsection A above shall require
a pri,or permit to be issued by the Fire Chi.ef or hi.s authorized
representative .
C. All outdoor fires . shall be constantly attended by a
competent person and shall be kept under control at all times until such
fire has been fully extinguished.
D. The Fire chief or his duly authorized representative may
prohi�bit any and all outdoor fires whenever atmospheric conditions or
local circumstances make or tend to make such f�.res hazardous .

SECTION II : A11 other terms and �rovisions of the 1965 '
�
� Edition of the 'tFire Prevention Code" as am.ended, shall remain in �
� �u11 force and ef�ect.
(
� SECTTQN III: Any and all ordinances or �arts of ordinance�
a.n confli,ct herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION IV: This Qrdinance sha11 be in �ull farce and effect
upon i�s passage, approval and five days a�'ter its publication, unless
atherwise provided �or herei.nabove.
