� AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SUBSECTION (C) OF SECTION 10-109 OF
TITLE X (TRAFFIC) OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED
rrCODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON"
RELATING TO FUNERAL AND OTHER PROCESSIONS , ESCORT
SERVICE AND MATTERS RELATING THERETO.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Subsection (C) of Section 10-109 of Title X
(Traffic) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances
of the City of Renton" is hereby a.mended to read as follows :
Subsection (C) - Section 10-109 - MISCELLANEOUS DRIVING
RULES - as amended:
(C) Funeral Processions to be Identified. A funeral
composed of a procession of vehicles shall be identified as such by
the display of illuminating headlights upon each vehicle in the
procession and it shall be unlawful for any person to operate a
vehicle in or as part of any funeral procession without having the
vehicle distinguished by illuminated headlights ; alternately , a
funeral procession may be identified by such other means as the
Chief of Police , or his duly authorized representative , may designate ,
from time to time , including the display of pennants or other insignia
on each vehicle being part of such processinn.
In the event a funeral procession proceeds on any public
street without any escort ser�ice oY the direction of any police
officer stationed at any intersection , the operator of the lead vehicle
of such process�on entering upon any street intersection where a stop
is required by any official traffic control' _�� �device applicable
thereto , or by the terms of the applicable traffic code , shall bring
his vehicle to a full stop and yield the right of way to vehicles on
the intersected street , and such lead vehicle and all other vehicles
being part of such procession shall duly comply with all traffic
control• ^ j devices and as otherwise set forth in RCW 46 . 61. et seq ,
which provisions a.re��express�ly ,incorporated herein as if fully set forth. I

SECTION II : Any and all ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict here�ith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III : This ordinance shall be effee.five upon its
passage , approval and five days after its publication, unless otherwise
provided for hereinabove.
