L Y'�� �� � � ti. � Y� � a;� -� � AMENDED BY ORD. 2903 ' � (,��//�e ,2st.eP� ' � (�/���a ����7 ' CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON U I ,I ORDINANCE N0 . 2817 � AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING CHAPTER 16 of TITLE V CBUSINESS REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY � OF RENTON" RELATING TO DOG AND CAT LICENSES i� THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : Section 5-1601 of Title V (Business Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows : _, 5-1601 as amended - REQUIRED AGE FOR LICENSING : It shall be unlawful to own or keep a dog or cat of more than four C4) months of age unless the owner or custodian thereof shall have a valid and s h such animale ubsisting license for eac I • -1602 of Title V Business Re ulations) SECTION I . Section 5 ( g of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows : 5-1602 as amended - ANNUAL FEES : The annual license fee , based on the calendar year for each dog or cat over four (4) months of age shall be as follows : Each male dog $3 . 00 per annum Each female dog $5 . 00 per annum Each female dog (spayed) $3 . 00 per annum Each male dog (neutered) $3 . 00 per annum Each cat $1. 00 per annum All applications for such licenses shall be made tothe City Clerk of the City and the annual license fee paid on or before January 31 of each year. In the event the owner or custodian of any such dog or cat fails to procure and fails to pay for such license fee before said date , or within thirty (30 ) days of acquiring the ownership or custody of any such dog or cat , a late charge of fifty cents (50�) shall be added to the regular license fee. The City may require reasonable evidence to determine the date of acquisition or custody of any such dog or cat to ascertain whether a late charge shall be imposed. The City Clerk is hereby authorized to permit the City' s poundmaster , -'or any other custodian of animals impounded pursuant to the provision of this ordinance , and any duly licensed veterinarian practicing his profession within the City to sell and issue licenses ; the City Clerk I may impose such additional regulations as may be reasonable to carry out the provisions of this Chapter. -1- . : .' ,`_'�"` : , . . � ' �� . '.. �EC�'ION III : Section 5-1609 of Title V (Business Regulations) �'of P Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows: 3 Section 5-1609 as amended - REDEMPTION PROCEDURE; FEES : � Any animal impounded pursuant to the provisions of this Chapter may be re- I deemed as herein provided upon payment of a redemption fee in the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) ,which payment shall be made to the agency providing II such kenneling and redemption services. In addition thereto there shall be paid a fee, in each instance, of two dollars ($2.00) per day for boarding such animal until the date same has been redeemed. In the event any such animal is suffering from any serious injury or disease, then anadditional fee shall be imposed by the agency having the custody of such animal to cover special services Yendered to such animal at and prior to the time of redemption. All the fees provided for in this Sectio n shall be paid to King County, the agency pro�ziding such kenneling and redemption services on behalf of the City of Renton. SECTION IV: Any provisions in Chapter 16 of Title V (Business Regulations) applicable to dogs relating to lic�nse tags , impounding procedure, fines and redemption procedure, and fees therefor, the destruction or sale of impounded dogs and like matters shall also apply to cats except that the first paragraph of Section 5-1606 shall be inapplicable to the maintenance and/or custody of cats. SECTION V: This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage, approval and five days after its publication, unless otherwise provided for hereinabove.
