CITY OF RENTON, TnIASHINGTON
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
ESTABLISHING A NEW SECTION, ENTITLED SECTION
4--732 OF TTTLE IV (BUILDTNG REGULATIONS ) OF
ORDINANCE N0 . 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO
REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS FOR ISSUANCE OF
SPECIAL PERMITS FOR MINING, EXCAVATION AND
GRADING. ,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RENTON AS FOLLOWSt
SECTION I : There is hereby created and established a
new section, entitled Section 4-732 of Title IV (Building Regulations)
of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled 'LCode of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton" reading as follows ;
4r732 . MINING:; EXCAVATION AND GRADING :
l. Special Permit Required; The Planning Commission
may grant a special permit , after a public h.earing thereon, in any
zone , to allow the drilling, quarrying , mining or depositing of
minerals or materials , including but not limited to petroleum, coa1 ,
sand, gravel, rock, clay, peat and topsoil. A special permit shall
be xequired for each site of such operation.
2 . Standards ; To grant a special permit , the Planning
Commission shall make a determination that the proposed activity
would not be unreasonably detrimental to the surrounding area.
The Commission shall use the standards established in that certain
�'Mining, Excavation and Grading Ordinance" being Ordinance No. -�s20�
which said Ordinance is hereby in.corporated, by reference , as if
fully set forth.
SECTION TI ; This Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect five days from and after its passage , approval and legal ,
publication.
SECTION III : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conf lict herewith are hereby repealed.
