AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
ADOPTING AND ESTABLISHING BY REFERENCE THE
"UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1973 EDITION"; REPEALING
ANY AND ALI� ORDINANCES OR PART5 OF ORDINANCES IN
CONFLICT HEREWITH
WHEREAS not less than three (3) printed copies in book form of the
"UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1973 EDITION" as issued by the "Interna.tional
Conference of Building Officials and International Association of Plumb- I
ing a.nd Mechanical Officials" have heretofore been filed and a.re now on
file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Renton for use and
examina.tion by the public, and
[�THEREAS it is deemed advisable and in the public interest to adopt
said Code a.s hereinabove described, by reference, NOW THEREFORE THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN A5 FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Sa.id "UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1973 EDITION'.' a.s issued
by the "Internationa.l Conference of Building Officials a.nd International
Association of Pliunbing and Mechanical Officia.ls", of which not less than
three (3) printed copies in book form have heretofore been filed and a.re
now on file in the office of the City Clerk and made available for exami-
nation by the public, is hereby adopted as the "UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE,
1973 EDITION" by the City of Renton, and said Code may be herea.fter
designated as the "CITY OF RENTON UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1973 EDITION."
SECTION II: Any and all amendments, a.dditions or modifications to
said Code, when printed and filed with the City Clerk of the City of Renton
by authorization of the City Council from time to time, shall be considered
a.nri accepted and constitute a part of such Code without the necessity of
further adoption of such amendments, modifications or additions by the
legislative authority of the City of Renton or by ordina.nce.
SECTION III: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
� duly a.uthentica,te and record a copy of the abovementioned Code, together
with a.ny amendments or a.dditions thereto, together with an a.uthentica.ted ;
copy of this Ordinance. �

SECTION IV : This Ordinance shall not be construed to relieve '
from or lessen the responsibility of any person owning , building ,
altering, constructing or moving any building or structure as defined
in the aforesaid Code ; nor shall the City of Renton or any agent
thereof be held as assuming such liab.ility by reason of inspection
authorized herein or a Certificate of Inspection issued by the City
or any of its agencies .
SECTION V : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION V� ; This Ordinance shall be e�fective upon its passage ,
approval and five days after its publication, unless otherwise
provided for hereinabove.
