ORDINANCE NO. 2 8 3 0
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
ADOPTING AND ESTABLISHING BY REFERENCE A "UNIFORM
PLUMBING CODE, 1973 EDITION" AND RE-ADOPTING PART I
(ADMINISTRATION) , SUBJECT TO CERTAIN MODIFICATIONS,
OF THE "UNIFORM PI�UMBING CODE, 1970 EDITION" ;
REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
WHEREAS not less than three (3) printed copies in book form of the
"UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1973 EDITION" a.s issued by the "Interna.tiona.l
Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials" have heretofore been
filed and are now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City
of Renton for use and examination by the public, and
WHEREAS it is deemed advisa.ble a.nd in the public interest to adopt
said Code as hereinabove described by reference, NOW THEREFORE THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOI�LOWS:
SECTION I: Sa.id "UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1973 EDITION, a.s issued by
the "International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials", of
which not less tha.n three (3) printed copies in book form have heretofore
been filed and a.re now on file in the office of the City Clerk and made
available for examination by the public, is hereby adopted as the
"UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1973 EDITION" by the City of Renton, and said
Code ma.y be hereafter designated as the "CITY OF RENTON UNIFORM PLUMBING
CODE, 1973 EDITION'° .
SECTION II: Pa.rt I (Administration) of the "UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE,
1970 EDITION" of which not less than three printed copies in book form
have heretofore been and are now on file in the office of the City Clerk
a.nd have been made availa.ble for examination by the public, is hereby
re-a.dopted and established as "PART I (ADMINISTRATION) OF THE 'UNIFORM
PLUMBING CODE, 1970 EDITION"' except that Sections 1.2 and 1.3 of said
Pa.rt I are hereby deleted.
In addition thereto the following revised "Schedule of Fees"

SECTION III : Any and all amendments , additions or modifications
to said Code , when printed and filed with the City Clerk of the City
of Renton by authorization of the City Council from time to time , ,
shall be considered and accepted and constitute a part of such Code ,
as amended, without the necessity of further adoption of such
amendments , modifications or additions by the legislative authority of
the City of Renton or by ordinance.
SECTION IV : The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to duly authenticate and record a copy of the abovementioned Code ,
together with any amendments or additions thereto , together with an
authenticated copy of this Ordinance . ' �
SECTION V : This Ordinance shall not be construed to relieve
from or lessen the responsibility of any person owning, building,
altering , constructing or moving any building or structure as defined
in the aforesaid Code ; nor shall the City of Renton or any agent

thereof be held as assuming such liability by reason of inspection
authorized herein or a Certificate of Inspection issued by the City
or any of its agencies .
SECTION VI : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION VII : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage,
approval and five days after its publication, unless otherwise '
provided for hereinabove.
