HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2834 . �. � t '. i ' � 1.5� �'��� d r � F �S . . • ..f r � �. � � ������`�� �mcNOs C�r�� . �a�9�; �r�l��Dev 13y Or�,-�3la3 CITY OF RENTON, Tn1ASHINGTON ORDINANCE N0. 2s34 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AMENDING ' CHAPTER 6 OF TITLE I (ADMITIISTRATIVE) OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING Tp COMMITTEES OF THE CITY COUNCIL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WA�-iCNGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : Existing Subsection CF) of Section 1-601 of Title I (Administrative) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows : ' Subsection (F) - 1-601 - COMMITTEES APPOINTED , as amended : ` (a) The Committee on LEGISLATION AND INTER-GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS shall consist of three (3) members , including a chairman. (b) The Committee shall be primarily concerned with and supervise all legislative matters of the City , including but not limiting it to the initiation, consideration and study of Ordinances and Resolutions , re6earch and study of proposed legislative matters affecting the City directly or indirectly; study, research and responsibility for the coordination, liaison and communication with other governmental entities and the timely review of legislation , proposals and inter-governmental activities involving the Federal , State , County and other municipal or quasi-municipal bodies ; and the coordination of joint legislation involving the City and one or more other governmental entities . Cc) Al1 Ordinances , Resolutions and other legislative matters within the jurisdiction of the Committee initiated and/or introduced by any other Committee or member of the City Council shall first be referred to this Committee for proper study and introduction unless otherwise determined by a majority of the City Council. (d) In order to provide continuous and effective li�son between the legislative body and the administrative departments of the City, the City Attorney shall, whenever so timely requested, attend meetings of said Committee and assist in the implementation of its plans and projects whenever so requested by the Committee and/or the City Council. -1- � . . , ,�� • ' ,. . - • . :. y ,. , �. � � . SECTION II : There is hereby created and established a new subsection entitled "SubsectionCl)"reading as follows : Subsection (I) The Committee on aviation shall consist of three C3) members including a chairman and vice-chairman. This Committee shall be primarily concerned with and supervise all matters relating to the activities and affairs of the Renton Municipal Airport , including but not limiting to , the approval of all leases , sub-leases , and assignments thereof; the establishment and adoption of rules and regulations for the operation and management of said Airport consistent with and in compliance with any other rules of any governmental agency having jurisdiction over such operations , including the rules of the Federal Aviation Admir�stration; to consider, � adopt,<�_anj.end and modify from time to time the current master plan for the proper development of public and private improvements and facilities within the boundaries of said Municipal Airport ; to provide for proper lia�on between the Committee and the Advisory Aviation Board concerning all airport matters . SECTION III : All other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are_ hereby repealed. SECTION IV : This ordinance shall be effective upon its passage , approval and five days after its publication, unless otherwise provided for hereinabove. , -.
