ORDINANCE N0. 2838 '
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON I
CREATING AND ESTABLISHING A "MOTOR VEHICLE
INTOXICATION FUND" PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 130 , I
LAWS OF 1974 , 3RD EXTRAORDINARY SESSION �
, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : There is hereby created and established a special
fund to be entitled "MOTOR VEHICLE INTOXICATION FUND" , Revenue Fund �
Account 606/208 . 04 , and the Finance Director is hereby authorized

and directed to establish and maintain such Fund , pursuant to and in
compliance with Chapter 130 , La�rs of 1974 , 3rd Extraordinary Session ,
and pursuant to the rules and regulations issued or to be issued by
the State of Washington Treasurer and Court Administrator.
SECTION II : There shall be deposited into said Fund , for
remittance to the State Treasury, a penalty assessment in the minimum
amount of twenty five percent �25%) of, and which shall be in addition
to any fine , bail forfeiture , or costs on all offenses involving a
violation of any state statute or city or county ordinance relating
to driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating
liquor or being in actual physical control of a motor vehicle while
under the influence of intoxicating liquor, and said fund shallbe
used for the exclusive benefit of the Department for driver service
programs and for a state-wide alcohol safety action program, or
any other similar program designed primarily for the rehabilitation
or control of traftic offenders , as aforesaid. Furthermore , any
such penalty assessment as hereinabove described shall be included
in any bail schedule and shall be included by the court in any
pronouncement of sentence.

SECTION III : The applicable provision of Sections 1 � 2. ,and 3�'_ _'
of Chapter 130 , laws of 1974 , 3rd Extraordinary Session, are hereby

incorporated and made a part hereof as if fully set forth.
SECTION IV : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. A copy of this Ordinance
is to be furnished unto the Municipal Court of the City of Renton.
SECTION V : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its passage ,
approval and five days after its publication, un?iess otherwise
provided for hereinabove .
