� AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
I AMENDING SECTION 3-231(B) OF TITLE III (DEPARTMENTS)
�' OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GEN�RAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO
WATER RATES TO CERTAIN SENIOR CITIZENS ECONOMICALLY
DISADVANTAGED•
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Existing Section 3-231(B) of Title III CDepartments)
of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows :
Section 3-231(B) as amended:
(B) The following rates are hereby established for certain
qualified senior citizens who are economically disadvantaged as
herein set forth:
l. Every single person, 62 years of age or older ,
and every single person substantially and
permanently disabled residing in a single family
dwelling, either as owner or purchaser, whose
income from all sources 1.s $333 . 33 per month
or less , and $ 4 , 000. 0o per annum, or less .
2 . Every married couple , constituting a marital
community , residing in a single family dwelling ,
either as owner or purchaser , and both spouses
being 62 years of age or older., or one such spouse
being 62 years of age or older . and substantially
and permanently disabled, while the other spouse
is under age 62 , and whose total income from all
sources is $ 425 . 00 per month or less , and
$ 5 , 100° 0o per annum or less ;

and all of the aforementioned qualifying persons shall pay the '
following rates for water and sewer services relating to such single
family_ dwelling in which such eligible person or persons permanently ,
reside , to-wit :
One dollar ($1. 00) per month limited to nine hundred (900)
cubic feet of water per month ; including the monthly rate
for sewage disposal service for a single family dwelling unit;
Any excess shall be charged as provided for in Section 3-231CA)
of� Title III relating to water rates .

SECTION II : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in: conflict herewith are hereby repealed. �
SECTION III : This ordinance shall be effective u on its

passage , approval and five days after its legal publication. �
