CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ORDINANCE N0. 2929 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON PROVIDING FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF A CERTAIN GRANT BY THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL AND HEALTH SERVICES AS PARTIAL FUNDING OF THE CITY' S TALBOT HILL STORAGE FACILITY; AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENTS . BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLO[aS : SECTION I : The City of Renton, a Municipal corporation, operating as a non-charter code city under the laws and statutes of the State of Washington has heretofore applied for certain grants under State of Washington Referendum No. 27 for the purpose, among others , of improving the water quality and control of its facilities . The .Department of Social and Health Services , State of Washington, is agreeable to make such a grant in the sum of $355 , 200. 00 which said grant constitutes forty percent (40Q/o) of the total costs to improve the City' s Talbot Hill Storage by construction of a six million gallon reservoir. The City is willing to provide adequate funds to cover the remaining sixty percent (60'/0) of said total costs , i ncluding all non-eligible items . SECTION II : The City hereby agrees to accept that certain offer of grant made by the Department of Social and Health Services , State of Washington, in the sum of $355, 200. 00 and said funds to be used exclusively by the City for the improvement of its Talbot Hill Storage facilities �by construction of a six million gallon reservoir thereat. The City further agrees to finance and provide from its Waterworks Utility the remaining sum for said project , to-wit : the sum of $532, 800. 00 and the interim financing therefor to be secured from said Water Utility. The permanentfinancing of said �`'" project to be derived from the proceeds of sale of revenue bonds to be issued by said Water Utility. -1- , r,., � . � .:. , . �;, , The City likewise agrees to pay and be responsible for all other non-eligible costs in connection with or related to said specified improvements at the Talbot Hill Storage facility. SECTION III : The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute any and all agreements with the aforementioned State agency in order to consummate the above transaction.
