ORDINANCE N0. 2947
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 3-231 (B) OF TITLE III (DEPARTMENTS)
OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO
SPECIAL WATER RATES FOR QUALIFIED SENIOR CITIZENS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Existing Section 3-231 (B) of Title III (Departments)
of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City
of Renton" be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows :
Section 3-231 (B) as amended:
The following rates are hereby established for certain
qualified senior citizens who are economically disadvantaged
as herein set forth:
1. Every single person, sixty two (62) years of age or older,
and every single person substantially and permanetly disabled
residing in a single family dwelling, either as owner or
purchaser, whose income from all sources is three hundred
thirty three dollars thirty three cents ($333. 33) per month
or less, and four thousand dollars ($4, 000. 00) per annum, or less .
2. Every ma.rried couple�� , constituting a marital community,
residing in a single family dwelling, either as owner or
purchaser, and both spouses being sixty two (62) years of
age or older, or one such spouse being sixty two (62) years
of age or older and substantially and permanently disabled,
while the other spouse is under age sixty two (62) , and whose
total income from all sources is five hundred dollars ($500. 00)
per month or less , and six thousand dollars ($6, 000. 00) per
annum or less ;
and all of the aforementioned qualifying persons shall pay
the followin� rates for water and sewer services relatin� t•
such single family dwelling in which such eligible person
or persons permanently reside, to-wit :
One dollar ($1. 00) per month -limited to nine hundred (900)
cubic feet of water per month; including the monthly rate ,
for sewage disposal service for a single family dwelling unit :
Any excess shall be charged as provided for in Section 3-231 (A)
of Title III relating to water rates .

SECTION II : This ordinance shall be effective on and after
August l , 1975 , and after its passage , approval and five days after
its legal publication.
