HomeMy WebLinkAboutORD 2949 , Y� � • !�•� . • 4 � `� „ .. . ,� • Amends Ord. #2919 � , ♦ � CITY OF RENTON,1n1ASHINGTON ORDINANCE N0. �949 ' AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON AMENDING SECTION 6-2004 OF TITLE VI (POLICE REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO GAMBLING ACTIVITIES THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : Existing Section 6-2Q04 , as amended , of TITLE VI (POLICE REGULATIONS) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows : Section 6-2004 - as amended: TAX LEVIED : In pursuance of Chapter 218 , Laws of Washington, 1973 First Extraordinary Session, and as amended by Chapte� 135 and 155 , Laws of Washington, 1974 Third Extraordinary Session, there is hereby levied upon all persons , associations and organizations who have been duly licensed by the Washington State Gambling Commission, as authorized by law , the following tax: (A) To conduct or operate any bingo games , raffles and amuser�ent games a tax rate of ten percent (l00) of the gross revenue received therefrom, less the actual net amount paid by such person, association or organization for or as prizes ; (B) For the conduct or operation of any pulltabs , a tax rate of five percent (50) of the gross receipts from I such pulltabs ; ', (C) For the conduct or operation of any licensed premises I or facility used to play card games a tax rate of five hu�3dred dollars ($500 . 00 ) annually for the privilege of playing in card games , per establishment. � Said fee may be paid on a quarterly basis at the rate of one hundred twenty five dollars ($125 . 00 ) per quarter; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, that there shall be no � tax levied on any "bona fide , charitable , fraternal and non-profit organization'; as defined by law, so engaged in social card games within its premises . l. Any licensee for the conduct of social card rooms , except as hereinabove exempt , now paying a tax to the City of Renton shall , upon effective date of this ! Ordinance , receive a pro-rata credit of any pre-paid tax which such credit shall be applied on the annual , tax hereinabove specified. -1- . " . . ,. Each such licensee shall promptly furnish unto the Director of Finance, City of Renton, a true , complete and correct copy of all quarterly reports filed with the State of Washington Gambling Commission and such report shall be due the City within five (5 ) days after same has been filed with the aforementioned State agency. � � SECTION II : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances i in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. � SECTION III : This Ordinance shall �e effective t��n and after August 6, 1975 , andiafter its passage , approval and �ive. days� a�te� • its legal publicatilon.
