CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON
ORDINANCE N0. 2973
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
ADOPTING AND ESTABLISHING BY REFERENCE THE
"HIGHWAY HYDRAULIC MANUAL" ; REPEALING ANY AND
ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITH
WHEREAS not less than three (3 ) printed copies in book
form of the "HIGHWAY HYDRAULIC MANUAL" as issued and prepared by
the Washington State Highway Commission, Department of Highways ,
Yiave heretofore been filed and are now on file in the office of
the City Clerk of the City of Renton for use and examination by
the general public, and
WHEREAS it is deemed advisable and in the public interest
to adopt said Manual as hereinabove described, by reference,
NOW THEREFORE ,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REN.TON DO ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The "HIGHWAY HYDRAULIC MANUAL" as issued
and prepared by the Washington State Highway Commission, Department
of Highways , of which not .less than three ( 3) printed copies in
book form have heretofore been filed and are now on file in the
office of the City Clerk and made availabl.e for examination by
the general public, is hereby adopted as the "HIGHWAY HYDRAULIC

MANUAL by the City of Renton.
SECTION II : Any and all amendments, additions or mod-
ifications to said ilanual, when printed and filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Renton by auth.orization of. the City Council
from time to time, shall be considered and accepted and constitute
a part of such Manual without the necessity of further adoption
of such amendments , modifications or additions by. the legislat.i.ve

authority of the City of Re.nton or by. Ordinance.
SEC;TION III : The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to duly authenticate and record a copy of the abovementioned
Manual, togeth.er with any amendments or additions thereto, together
with an authenticated copy of this Ordinance.
SECTION I:V : This Ordinance shall not be construed to
relieve from or lessen the responsibility of any person owning,
building, altering, constructing or moving any building or str-ucture
or engaging in any such constr.uction as defined in the aforementioned
Manual; nor shall the City of Renton or any agent the.reof be held
as assuming such liability by reason of inspection authorized herein
or a Certificate of Inspection issued by the City or any of its
agencies.
SECTTOi�t V: If any part or provision of said Manual be
in conflict with any other Code he.retofore or hereaf.ter adopted
by the City of Renton, then in any such event, the more restrictive
provision shall be applicable and control.
SECTIOI� VI :
Any and all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances
in conflict herewith are her.eby repealed, unless otherwise provided
in Section V hereinabove.
SECTION VII: This Ordinance :shall be effective upon
its passage and five .days after its publ.ication.

1975 .
