ORDINANCE N0. 2976
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
ADOPTING AND ESTABLISHING BY REFERENCE THE
"NATIONAL FIRE CODE , VOLUME SEVEN, 1975 ED.ITIONr' �
REPEALING ANY AND ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF
ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH
WHEREAS not less than three ( 3) printed copies in book
form of the "NATIONAL FIRE CODES VOLUME SEVEN 1975 EDITION"

as issued by the National Fire Protection Association, have heretofore
been filed and are now on file in the office of the City Clerk
of the City of Renton for use and examination by the general public,
and
�nTfiEREAS it is deemed advisable .and in the public interest
to adopt said Code as hereinabove described, by reference,
' NOW THEREFORE ,
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO. ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS :
SECTTON I : The "NATIONAL FIRE CODE,. VOLUME SEVEN, 1975
EDITION'` as issued by the National Fire Protection Association, of
which not less than three ( 3) printed copies in book form have
. heretofore been filed and are now on file in the office of the
City Clerk and made available for examination by the general public,
is hereby adopted as the "NATIONAL FIRE .CODE,_ V�LLiM� SEVEI�, 1975
EDITION" by the City of Renton.
SECTION :II : Any and all amendments., additions or mod- I
ifications to said Code,. when printed and filed with the City Clerk ',
of the City of Renton by authorization of the City. Council from

time to time , shall be considered and accep.ted and constitute a ,
part of such Code without the neces.sity of further adoption of
such amendments , modifications or additions by the legislative
authority of the City of Renton or by Ordinance. I�
SECTION III : The City. Clerk is hereby authorized and �'i
directed to duly authenticate and record a copy of the abovementioned ��
Code, together with any amendments or additions thereto, together
with an authenticated copy of this Ordinance.
SECTTON IV: This Ordinance shall not be construed to '
relieve from or lessen the responsihi7..ity of any person owning,
building, altering, constructing or moving any building or structure
or engaging in any such construction as defined in the aforementioned �
Code; nor shall the City of Renton or any agent thereof be held
as assuming such liability by reason of inspection authorized herein
or a Certificate of Inspection issued by the City or any of its '�
agencies.
SECTION V: If any part or provision of said C3�de be
in conflict with any other Code heretofore or hereafter adopted
by the City of Renton,. then in any such event, the more restrict.ive
provision shall be applicable and control.
SECTION VI : Any and all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed, unless otherwise provided
for in Section V hereinabove.
SECTTON VI7: This Ordinance shall be effe.ct.ive upon .its

passage and five days after its publication.
