ORDINANCE NO, 2991
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON
VACATING A PORTION OF N.W. Sth STREET BETWEEN
LIND AVE . N.W. AND STEVENS AVENUE N.We � AS
MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRTBED BELOW
WHEREAS a proper petition for vacating a portion of N.W. 5th
Street between Lind Ave. N.W. and Stevens Avenue N.W. , Renton , King
County , Washington , was duly filed with the City Clerk on or about
September 2 , 1975 , and said petition having been signed by owners
representing more than two-thirds (2/3rd) of the property abutting
upon such street sought to be vacated; and
WHEREAS the City Council by Resolution Noe 2005 passed and
approved on October 20 , 1975 and after due investigation , did fix
and determine the lOth day of November, 1975 , at the hour of 8 : 00 P . M.
in the City Council Chambers of the City of Renton to be the ti.me and
place for a public hearing thereon, and the City Clerk having given
due notice of such hearing in the manner provided by law, and all
persons having been heard appearing in favor or in opposition thereto;
and
WHEREAS the Department of Public Works and the Planning Department
of the City of Renton having duly considered said petition for said
vacation , and having found same to be in the public interest and for
the public benefit , and no injury or damage to any person or properties
will result from such vacation;
NOW THEREFORE , THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON ,
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : The following described portion of street , to-wit :
All that portion of street right-of-way (formerly known as
Renton Street) , having a width of 60 feet lying between
Blocks 2 and 3 within the plat of Latimer' s Lake Park
Addition , as recorded in Volume 18 of Plats , page 63 ,
records of King County, Washington , and westerly of the
Westerly right-of-way margin of Lind Ave. N .W. extended
and Easterly of the Easterly right-of-way margin of
Stevens Ave. N.W. extendede

Al1 situated within the S .W. 1/4 of Section 7 , Township 23
N. , Range 5 East , W. M. , King County , Washington
BUT RESERVING unto the City an easement 20 feet in width,
for utility purposes , said easement being located 10 feet
on each side bf the center line of the above described
premises .
BE AND THE SAME IS HEREBY VACATED , subject to payment unto the City
of Renton by the abutting owners thereof, or their assignees , of the
total sum of $ 2 , 900. 00 Which sum does not exceed one-half of the
appraised value of the area so vacated.
SECTION II : This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage , approval and five days after its publication.
A certified copy of this Ordinance shall be filed with the
Office of Records and Elections , King County, and as otherwise
provided by law.
