OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RE LATING TO ADMISSION TAXES ON HQRSE RA.CING. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I: Existing Section 5-202 of Chapter 2 of Title V (Business Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of theCity of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows : Section 5-2D2 , as am:erided: ADMISSION TAX ON HORSE RACING: On or after the effective �te of this Chapter, there is hereby levied upon and shall be collected from every person engaging in the business of horse racing and making admission charges therefor to the general publ.ic, a basic admission fee or tax for such activity in the sum of three hundred dollars ( $300 . 00) per year; which fee or tax shall include the operations of concessions, not to exceed six (6) in number, conducted during the racing season at and within the confines of such race track, and which noncessions are related to and incidental to the operation of such horse racing business . In addition ther.eto there is hereby imposed and levied upon .every person who pays such an admission charge within the City Limits of the City of Reriton a tax equal to seven cents (7�) (but in no event to Qxceed five per cent (So) of the total admission charged) on each-� s:ich admission charge. Every person receiving an admission charge upon which an admission tax is levied under this Chapter shall collect the amount of the tax imposed upon the person paying an admi,ssion charge. Such admission tax shall be deemed to be held in trust by the person required to collect the same until remitted to the Director of Finance as hereinafter provided. Said admission tax is in addition to all other taxes or license fees i�nposed by law, except that the operations of concessions as hereinabove specified shall be exempt from the provisions of Chapter 1, Title V (Business Regulations) of the City' s Code entitled "Code of Gerieral Ordinances of the City of Renton" . SECTTON II : All other ter.ms and prov�ions of Chapter 2 of Title V(Business Re.gulations) , except as expressly modified hereinabove, shall remain in full force and effect. SE"CTION III : This Ordinance shall be. ef.fective on and after January 1, 1976 and uprin its passage, approval and five days after its publication.
