AMENllIN� SECTION 1-601 OF TITLE I (ADMINISTRATIVE)
OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO COMMITTEES
OF THE CITY GOUNCIL.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Existing Section 1-601(A) , "Committee on Public
Works"and Section 1-601 (G) , "Committee on Transportation'; are
hereby amended to read as follows :
Section 1-601 (A) : The Committ�es on Public Works
and Transportation are hereb�� consolidated and combined into one
committee, to be known herEafter as the "p�UBLIC WORKS - & TP.AI�SPOP.sATION
COMMITTEE" which shall consist of three mer.lbers including a chairman
and vice-chairman.
This committee shall be primarily concerned and have
supervision of all matters pertainin; to the environment , public
health, pollution, waste disposal, construction, renovation,
modification and maintenance of public works facilities including

ot ted to municipal sewer and water systems and all other

matters and issues directly and indirectly related to the afore-
specified subject matter.
Furtherrnore, this committee shall be primarily
concerned with and supervise all matters relatin�; to the movements
of people and goods within, over and across public rights-of-way
I including but not limiting it to the study, revie�a and coordination
,
of plans for the operation of_ transportation facilities , traff_ic
engineering, railroads and crossing of public right-of-ways, . �
and water travel, the lighting of public right-of-ways including
• underground wiring, on and off street parking of vehicles and all

matters of highway safety and the use and occupancy of public rights-of-way
including those by public and private utilities; together will all other
matters or i,ssues directly or indirectly related to the aforespecified
subject matters.
In order to provide continuous and effective liaison between
the legislative body and the administrative departments of the City, the
Director of Public Works and the Traffic Engineering Department shall ,
whenever so timely requested, attend meetings of said committee and assist
in the implementation of its plans and projects.
SECTION II: Existing subsection (G) of Section 1-601 is
hereby deleted.
SECTION III : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION IV: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
on and after January 1 , 1976, and after its passage, approval and five (5)
days after its legal publication as provided by law.
