ORDINANCE N0. 300�
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AMENDING SECTION 1-601 OF TITLE I (ADMINISTRATIVE)
OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO
COMMITTEES OF THE CITY COUNCIL •
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION I : Existing Section 1-601 (C)- Committee on
Community Services - is hereby amended to read as follows : �',
Section 1-601 CC) as amended: There are hereby established
the following Committees , each consisting of three (3 ) members ,
including a chairman and vice chairman, to-wit :
l. Committee on Community Services. This Committee shall be I
primarily concerned with the utilization of existing facilities and
improvements , _ine�uding structures , buildings and the implementation
of existing codes relative thereto , together with the full util.ization
of the existing social and recreational facilities . Furthermore , such
Committee shall endeavor to attract new and retain existing businesses
and industries , and to make recommendations to the City Council from
time to time toward the implementation of said goals , including the
furtherance of downtown economic activities to attract additional
patrons and customers.
2 . Committee on Planning and Development. This Committee shall
be primarily concerned with and be responsible for and have supervision
of all matters relating to the planning of the physical , aesthetic , j
social and economic development of "the City and its environment , �
together with the planning and implementation of future cultural '
and recreational facilities and activities within the City, and all '
other matters or issues directly or indirectly relating to the
aforespecified subject matters.

' There shall be close liaison between said committee and
the administrative departments of the City, especially the Planning
Department and the Public Works Department. The: directors of said �,
departments , whenever so timely requested, shall attend meetings of
this committee and assist in the implementation of its lans and

projects .
SECTION II : Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION III : This ordinance shall be effective on:,��:and:�a.fter
January ;l , 1976 and after its passage, approval and five C5) da�s
after its legal publication as provided by law.
