AN ORDINANCE �� THE CITY OF RENTQN, WASHINGTQN,
AMENDING SECTZON 7-909 QF TITLE VII {FIRE
REGULATT�NS) OF ORDII�iANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED
"CODE OF GENERAL ORDIIvANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON"
RELATING TO OUTDOOR FTRES, LICENSING ATdD REGULATIONS
THEREOF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGT�N, DO
ORDAIN AS FflLLOWS :
SECTION I: Exis�ing Section 7-909 of Title VII (Fire
� Regulations) of Clydinance No. 162$ enti�led "Code of General Ordinances
� of the City of Ren�on" is hereby amended ta read as follaws :
� Section. 7-909 , as atnended; OUTDC?OR FIRES; LICENSING;
' REGUALTIONS:
II A. No ouCdoor fires shall be permitCed except the foll.a+�ing:
(1) Small ou�door fires for pleasure, re2igious ,
ceremonial, caaking or like sacial purposes .
{2} Fires �ox instruction in �he me�hod of fighting
�ires , testing fire resistant materials, or
testing of fire protection equipment.
(3} Fires for control of disease
(4) Fires for tne disposal of bu.Iky waste, natural vege-
tatian or debris whera. due ta unusual ar�.d exceptional
! conditions of the land wh.ereon the same exists, relating
�o Iacation and topogra�i.y,,, no reasonable alterna�e
�
� neans of disposal exists .
The determination as to �he existence o� such
condition as specified abave, sha11 be inade by the
Fire Chief or his duly� auCharized agent:
B. All fires listed un der subsection A hereinabove shall
require a prior writ�en permit issued by Ghe Fire Chie�' or his
duly authorized agen�.

C. All outdoor fires shall be constantly attended by
a competent person of suitable age and shall be kept under control �
at all times until such. fire has been fully extinguished.
D. The Fire Chief or his duly authorized agent may
prohibit any and all outdoor fires whenever atmospheric conditions
or local ca.rcumstances make or tend to make such fires hazardous .
E . A permit for burning natural vegetation may be issued
for a limited period each year as may be established by the Mayor
and City Council from tir.le to. time . Such permits shall be issued
by the F�.re Chie� or his duly au-thorized agen:t �
SECTION II : Any and all ordinances or parts of Ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SE"CTION III : This Ordinance shall be effective from and
after its passage and approval and five days after its publication.
