'` � s " ' AMENDS O,Rp. #2,596 , & ' � � < ~ �#31b3r � ' � . �" t �» , T . � ������ � CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON I ORDINANCE NO. 3208 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON , WASHINGTON AMENDING CHAPTER 6 OF TITLE I (ADMINISTRATIVE) OF ORDINANCE NO. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELA'I'ING TO COMMITTEES OF THE CITY COUNCIL THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON , DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS : SECTION I : Existing Sec�ion 1`�_)601 of Title I {Adzninistra�ive) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended to read as follows : Section 1-601 , as amended: COMMITTEES APPOINTED. The City Council shall establish standing commit�ees and the znembers of those standing committees shall be appointed by the Commi��ee on Committees with the approval of the majority of the members of �he City Council. Unless o-therwise determined by the Committee on Committees , and a majority of the City Council, ,service on such committees shall be for the �erm of one year or a shor�er period of time should that councilperson no longer be a member of �he City Council before the expiration of said year. The standing committees for each calendar year shall be established by �the City Council il commencing in the month of January of the year for which -the committees are to serve . The Committee on Committees shall consist of four (4) members of the City Council; the President, the immediate past President, and two ( 2) members of the City Council selec�ed by �he Council President. The Committee on Committees shall have the right to reorganize and rearrange the membership of standing commit�ees including the discontinuance of any standing or special commit�ee , and the re-assignment of its duties and functions to another committee or c.ommittees , together with the establishment of special, �emporary � � r � t "• � �_ �,�1� . .. i� _ , _ . s ' • r � l a , and ad hoc committees ; provided, however, that the rearrangement, reorganization or discontinuance or re-assignlnent of the membership and duties of any standing committee shall have the approval of a maljority of the members of the City Council. SECTION II: Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
