ORDINANCE N0. 3216 '
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY' OF RENTON, WASHINGTON
AMENDING CHAPTER 9 OF TITLE IV (BUILDING REGULATIONS)
OF ORDINANCE N0. 1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO
UNIFORM HOUSING CODE
. . THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS : �
SECTION I�: Existing Chapter 9 of Title IV (Building Regulations)
of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the
City of Renton," is hereby amen ded to read as follows : .
Section 4-901, as amended: UNIFORM HOUSING CODE ADOPTEll:
The "iJniform Housing Code, 1976 Edition" as issued by the"International
Conference of Building Officials" , of which not less than three (3)
copies in book form have heretofore been filed and are now on file
in the office of the City Clerk and made available for examination •
by the public, is hereby adopted as the "Uniform Housing Code" by the ,
City of Renton, and said Code ma.y be hereafter designated as �the
"City of Renton Uniform Housing Code" . .
Section 4-902, as amen ded: Any an d all amendments, additions
or modifications to said Code , when printed and filed with the City
Clerk of the City of Renton by authorization of the City Council
from time to time, shall be considered and accepted and constitute
a part of such Code without the necessity of further adoption of such I
amendments, modifications or additions by the legislative authority
of the City of Renton or by ordinance. �
. Sec'tion 4-903, as .amended: :The City Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to duly authenticate and record a copy of the .abovementioned
Code, together with any ,amendments or additions thereto, together with '
an authenticated copy of this Ordinance. .
. Section 4-904, as amended: This Ordinance shall. not be construed to
relieve from or lessen the responsbility of any person owning, building,

' aiter.ing, constructing or moving any building or structure as
� defined in the aforesaid Code ; nor shall the City of Renton or any
agent thereof be held as assuming such Iiability by reason of
inspection authorized h.erein or a Certificate of Inspection issued
by the City or any of its agencies . �
SECTION II: Any ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict
herewith are hereby repealed.
�ECTION III: This Or.dinance shall be in full force and effect
five days after
upon its passage, approval and/legal publication.
