' � the case of marital community, both parties, husband and wife, residing in a single-family dwelling, either as owner or purchaser, and both spouses being sixty-two (62) years of age or older whose total income from all sources is One thousand forty-nine dollars and thirty-seven cents (51,049.37) per month or less and Twelve thousand five hundred ninety-two dollars and forty-four cents (512,592.44) per annum or less shall pay the following rates for water and sewer services relating to such single-family dwelling in which such etigible person or persons permanently reside: One dollar ($1.00) per month, limited to nine hundred (900) cubic feet of water per month t$.75 per month for water/$.25 per month for sewer). Any excess shall be charged as provided in Section 3-231(A) of Title III relating to water services. SECTION II: These rates shall become effective with billings computed on or after January 1, 1988, and after its passage, approval, and five days after its publication. EXHIBIT "B": SANITARY SEWER SECTION I: Existing subsection (A) of Section 8-715 of Chapter 7, Title VIII (Health and Sanitation) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended as follous: Section 8-715(A), as amended: SEWER CHARGES, SPECIAL RATES: A. The monthly rates and charges for sewage disposal service shall be as follows: 1. Single-family dwelling units - $4.40 2. All other users: A charge of Four dotlars and forty cents ($4.40) per month for each nine hundred (900) cubic feet of water used by apartments, multiple dwelling units of every type and number, business, cortmercial, industrial, and all other users. 3. Charges for sewer service without City water: In the event that water obtained from sources other than purchased fran the City of Renton is either discharged or drained into the sewer system, single-family dweltings and other users shall be charged by one of the two following methods: a. Fourteen dollars and thirty cents (514.30) per single•family residence(includes Nine dollars and ninety cents ($9.90) Metro charge). b. Other than single-famity dwellings, the Director of Public Works shall install a water meter into such private water system at cost to property owners, and the method of billing shall be in compliance with Section 8-715(A)2. SECTION II: Existing subsection (D) of Section 8-715 of Chapter 7, Title VIII (Health and Sanitation) of Ordinance 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" is hereby amended as follows: Section 8-715(D), as amended: In addition to the foregoing charges specified in this section, the following rates shatl be charged: 1. A charge of Nine dollars and ninety cents (59.90) per month, payable to Metro for each single- family dwelling unit. 2. A charge of Nine dollars and ninety cents (59.90) per month, payable to Metro for each nine hundred (900> cubic feet of water used by apartments, multiple dwelling units of every type and number, business, cortmercial, industrial, and all other users. 3. SECTION III: These rates shall become effective uith bittings computed on or after January 1, 1988, and after its passage, approval, and five days after its pubtication. \ EXHIBIT "C": SOLID WASTE SECTION I: Existing subsections (A), (B), and (D) of Section 8-309 of Titte VIII (Health and Sanitation) of Ordinance No. 1628 entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton" are hereby amended as fotlows: Section 8-309(A), as amended: RATES FOR CHARGES: The fotlowing schedule is hereby adopted as the charges to be paid to the City for services rendered for each category: (A) Collection of garbage, refuse, and switt from residential dwellings shall be made once a week, and the charges therefor shall be as follows: 1. For �'garbage cans" and/or '�garbage units�', as herein defined, placed not more than twenty-five feet (25') from the edge of the street, curb, or alley abutting or adjoining the unit served: Not more than one can per week S 7.22 per month Not more than two cans per week 7.91 per month Each additional can per week 1.51 per month Extra units 1.51 per pickup 2. For "garbage cans" and/or "garbage units", as herein defined, placed more than twenty-five feet (25') but less than sixty feet (60') from the edge of the street, curb, or alleyway abutting or adjoining the unit served: Not more than one can per week S 8.89 per month Not more than two cans per week 10.31 per month Each additional can per week 1.51 per month Extra units 1.51 per pickup 3. for "garbage cans" and/or "garbage units", as herein defined, placed more than sixty feet (60') from the edge of the street, curb, or alleyway abutting or adjoining the unit served: Not more than one can per week S 9.29 per month Not more than two cans per ueek 11.13 per month Each additional can per week 1.51 per month Extra units 1.51 per pickup 4. All categories in Section 8-309(A)1, 2, and 3 are subject to a flat 51.00 fee for senior citizens who qualify for the "Senior Citizen Rate" as established by Ordinance No. 2946, to-wit: a. The Utitities Division shatt have the right uhenever deemed necessary to require such statement on an annuat basis. Temporary contractor drop boxes - twice per month (D) 1. Collection of industrial waste and rates: "Industrial waste", as the term is herein defined, shall be collected by the City's collector holding a valid and subsisting contract therefor from the manufacturing establishments having such wastes, at the rates and upon the terms established herein as the same may be amended from time to time. The below-specified rates and conditions are based on annuat quantities of "industrial wastes" of loose measure or equivalent, in combination of loss and compacted waste. a. Forty (40) yard load of loose industrial waste, whether in contractor's or customer's containers, exclusive of "dumping fee" at disposal facility - $49.54 per load. b. All loose industrial waste hauled in other than contractor�s or customer�s 40-yard containers, exclusive of "dumping fee" at disposal facility - 52.53 per cubic yard. c. Compacted industrial waste in customer-furnished containers, exclusive of "dumping fee" at disposat facility - 552.81 per toad. d. Rates for all industrial concerns not falling in the above categories as herein set forth shall be as specified in sub-paragraph (B)3 of Section 8-309. All categories will be revieued quarterly. If the user is not falling into its specified category, an adjustment will be made at that time for the previous quarter. This adjustment may be in favor of the contractor or user, whichever is appropriate. � -____ -�. }.•- , - SECTION II: Any and all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION III: These rates shatl be effective upon the January, 1988, billing and upon its passage, approvat, and five days after its publication.
