ORDINANCE N0. 3332
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
AUTHORIZING THE ACQUISITION OF CERTAIN PROPERTY
AND PP,.OPERTY RIGHTS BY EMINENT DOMAIN, PROVIDING
FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF; AUTHORIZING THE CITY
ATTORNEY TO {��E��R.E A PETITION FOR CONDEMNATION
IN THE SUPERIOR COURT IN AND FOR THE COUNTY OF
KING AND THE PROSECUTION THEREOF FOR THE ACQUI-
SITION OF SUCH PROPERTY AND PROPERTY RIGHTS �
FOR CONSTRUCTION IN RENTON, WASHINGTON OF A
TRA.IL SYSTEM ALONG THE CEDAR RIVER AND
IMPROVEMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREtiJITH.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUTdCIL OF THE
CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, AS FOLLOWS :
SECTION �: It is acknowledged that the acquisition of
the following described property and property rights is in accord
with the goals established by the Renton City Council for the
development of the Cedar River Trail.
� SECTION II : It is hereby determined that the acquisition
of the following described property and property rights is necessary
and for a public purpose and use, i.e, the construction of a trail
system along the Cedar River Trail for use by the general public
and that such property and property rights are locat�d within
the Corporate limits of the City of Renton, the sar.�e being
described on attachment A, which is hereby incorporated ard made
a part hereof as if fully set forth. It is furtlzer acknowledged
that the City is authorized by the laws and statutes of the State
of jaashington to appropriate lands and property rights , through
the exercise of its right of eminent domai:n within its corporate
limits necessary for the above-stated purpose.
SECTION III: The City Attorney is hereby autlx�x:ized
and directed to commence condemnation proceedings against the
owners and al1 other parties in interest in the above-described
lands and impravements , if any, as provided by law; to prepare
the necessary petition for condemnation; and commence and prosecute
such action in the Superior Court in and for the County of King
against all the owners and interested parties in the herinabove
described property; and to acquire the aforeclescribed property
and property rights for the City of Renton. Such proceedings shall

be to determine the .�ust Compensation for the appropriation of
such property and property rights by the City of Renton.
SECTION IV: Compensation for the acquisition of said
property and property rights shall be made from funds heretofore
committed for that purpo.se by the City of Renton.
SECTION V: Nothing in this Ordinance shall be construed
as a waiver by the City of Renton of its right to decline to
take and pay for said property and property rights after the amount
of Just Compensation has been ascertained, and wiChin the time
allowed by law.
SECTION VI : This Ordinance shall be effe�tive upon its
passage, approval and five days after its publication.
