ORDINANCE NO. 3388
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON,
ADOPTING STATE STATUTES BY REFERENCE RELATING
TO CRIMINAL ENFORCEMENT OF RESTRAINING ORDERS,
CRIMINAL ATTEMPT, CRIMINAL SOLICITATION AND
CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY AND ADDING SECTIONS TO TITLE
VI, CHAPTER 1, (POLICE REGULATIONS) OF ORDINANCE
1628 ENTITLED "CODE OF GENERAL ORDINANCES OF THE
CITY OF RENTON" RELATING TO MENACING AND HARASSMENT
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RENTON, WASHINGTON, DO
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Whereas not less than three (3) printed copies
in book form of Title 26 RCW and 9A RCW have heretofore been filed
and are now on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City
of Renton for use and examination by the general public; now there-
fore RCW 26.09.300 and RCW 9A.20.020, RCW 9A.28.030 and RCW 9A.28.040
are hereby adopted and shall be in full force and effect within the
City limits of the City of Renton.
SECTION II: There is hereby added the following sections
to Title VI, Chapter 1, (Police Regulations) of Ordinance No. 1628
entitled "Code of General Ordinances of the City of Renton".
Section 6-187. MENACING. A person is guilty of menacing
if such person by physical action places another person in fear of
bodily injury or death.
Section 6-188. HARASSMENT. A person is guilty of harassment
if such a person with intent, annoys or alarms another person by use
of fighting words or obscene language creating risk of assult.
SECTION III: This Ordinance shall be effective upon its
passage, approval and five days after its publication.
